RED BIRD MISSION

Red Bird Mission and Clinic have been providing ministries in the Appalachian Mountains of southeastern Kentucky since 1921. Chronic poverty, lack of jobs, poor housing and rugged terrain cause obstacles to a fuller life for the residents of that area. Red Bird Mission strives to meet the needs of their neighbors through ministry in five areas: Education, Health & Wellness, Community Outreach, Economic Opportunity and Community Housing Improvement. Red Bird Mission Work Camp - July 22-28, 2018

Red Bird Mission offers a service opportunity for volunteers in mission as they provide home repair for low-income residents of their community. The mission experience covers five days and six nights. Workers stay in climate-controlled cabins set up as bunk houses. Meals are shared in the dining hall. You will be provided an opportunity to grow in Christian love and to be enriched spiritually. Cost is $400. The work, the enthusiasm, and love shared during the work camp experience have a profound effect on the lives of the participants, staff, and community. Contact Greta or Liz Rix  (317-846-4912 or LRix@stmarkscarmel.org) if you have questions.
